Pillow of Stone
Memo to Mick and R. Stoners, Pillow of Stone is the best Stones song you've never recorded. This track has a Jorgenson/Ott/Alvin guitar rave in the middle and features Stanley and Gaffney howling mournfully like lovesick coyotes in the outro.

Minuteman
A song that makes you want to pump your fist and shout a slogan. Jorgenson sounds the call to arms to get the crowd aroused and Dick Dale himself leads the charge with his madman surf-guitar in the middle of the song.

Cowboys To Girls
A lush arrangement of the Philly-vibe classic. Gaffney belts the lyrics, the Iguanas horn section puts down fat and groovy horn lines, and the one and only Freebo appears on bass(!) If you don't love this track, it's time for counseling.

Keepin' The Beast At Bay
The beast who knows where we all live is kept at arms length, at least for a few minutes, by the full lineup. The arsenal includes a saxophone, an organ, a legion of guitars, and even congas. Everything except hot-oil being poured down from the parapets.

Mando Ramos
A tuneful tribute to the first true Long Beach warrior and champion, Mando Ramos. His talent and ferocity continue to be a source of pride among Long Beach natives, and his boxing feats inspired Stanley to embrace and put forth the Haymaker theme.

Hello Mama
Hello Mama gets our attention and reminds us all, as only a beautiful country waltz can, that there are some things that need to be said here and now, like right this minute. Great songwriting here by Jeff Denk, and achingly pretty steel guitar by Doug Livingston. Ask for this one when you want to do some graceful buckle-rubbing on the parquet dance floor.

Hoyt
This tribute to Hoyt Axton, penned by the late Dennis Bollenbach, calls forth images of now-gone venues and good times. Raise your hand, or at least smile smugly, if you too stood in the alley behind the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach and passed contraband hand-to-hand while waiting for the second show.

I've Got All the Signs
What to do when you know you got all the signs, and all you can do is sing about it as you circle the drain? Stanley decides to get Dave Alvin to play some guitar on this track to ease the discomfort as his descent continues.

Big Oak Tree
An acoustic lament that feels like a slightly chilly autumn day. Oh it's over, alright, but it ain't all the way over until nobody is singing about it anymore.

She Ain't Nothin' (But My Girl Now)
Long-time fans of Stanley will know this one as a classic that has been sung at many late-night "hand-me-that-guitar" get-togethers.

Trouble With Me
Some great duet singing by Stanley and Chris Gaffney on this well-arranged track.

Red, White, and Blues
Eureka! Buried treasure here, batting No. 12 in the lineup but swinging a big heavy stick full of emotion. Chris Gaffney sings this one from the heart, and that's really all you need to know.

Been To Jesus
An outstanding white-gospel track arranged by the hallowed hand of Tim Spivey. Everybody sing! You can almost see the sunlight streaming in through the colored glass...

Memories Are Made of This
A tasty take on the classic popularized by Dean Martin. Could make you want to break out the fondue kit and watch a Ozzie and Harriet rerun.
